The Capex Engineer shall prepare and/or review all data sheets, diagrams, and flow charts needed for the correct and efficient development of project, capital, and expense plans in order to develop and run capital projects. The Capex Engineer is responsible for developing engineering information to facilitate departmental requests and needs for cost justification. Leadership Training Support
The incumbent daily assigns projects and repairs and follows up with technical and/or physical assistance. Report all unusual circumstances, safety and repair issues or concerns to supervisor. You will be responsible for the training, guidance, and performance of a crew from the Melt Shop Furnace and the Caster department. You will be responsible for providing leadership guidance on establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious working team environment. The major role is to focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management through the continuous application of Gerdau Business System principles for the area of responsibility. Plan, lay out, and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, repair, construct, modify, calibrate, test, service, and program highly complex equipment in support of steel production operation and related plant facilities.

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Product Metallurgist II is primarily responsible for the identification, evaluation, and implementation of product enhancement opportunities. The Product Metallurgist II has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Manager Technical Services.
